The Miracle Of Friendship

There is a miracle called Friendship
that dwells within the heart
and you don't know how it happens
or when it even starts.

But the happiness it brings you
always gives a special lift
and you realize that Friendship
is God's most precious gift.

A True Friend

Standing by,
All the way.
Here to help you through your day.

Holding you up,
When you are weak,
Helping you find what it is you seek.

Catching your tears,
When you cry.
Pulling you through when the tide is high.

Just being there,
Through thick and thin,
All just to say, you are my friend.

Friends

I believe in angels,
The kind that heaven sends,
I am surrounded by angels,
But I call them friends.

Friends

A friend is someone we turn to
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives
with beauty, joy, and grace.
And makes the whole world we live in
a better and happier place.

What I Love About You

I love the way you look at me,
Your eyes so bright and blue.
I love the way you kiss me,
Your lips so soft and smooth.

I love the way you make me so happy,
And the ways you show you care.
I love the way you say, "I Love You,"
And the way you're always there.

I love the way you touch me,
Always sending chills down my spine.
I love that you are with me,
And glad that you are mine.

An Entrapment

My love, I have tried with all my being
to grasp a form comparable to thine own,
but nothing seems worthy;

I know now why Shakespeare could not
compare his love to a summer’s day.
It would be a crime to denounce the beauty
of such a creature as thee,
to simply cast away the precision
God had placed in forging you.

Each facet of your being
whether it physical or spiritual
is an ensnarement
from which there is no release.
But I do not wish release.
I wish to stay entrapped forever.
With you for all eternity.
Our hearts, always as one.

A Special World

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.

Mother India is the Wisdom Light

NO,
Mother India is not the Golden Age
Of the remote past.
Mother India is the wisdom-light
Of Eternity's Here and Now.

INDIA'S SECRET WEAPONS:
The transcendental Vision-Light
Of the Vedic seers,
The universal Consciousness-Delight
From the Vedic code.

I Dearly Love My India

I dearly love my India
And its age-old silence-peace.
I dearly love my India
And its child-heart's beauty increase.

Bande Mataram(Not vande mataram)

Mother, I bow to thee!
Rich with thy hurrying streams,
Bright with thy orchard gleams,
Cool with thy winds of delight,
Dark fields waving, Mother of might,
Mother free.

Glory of moonlight dreams
Over thy branches and lordly streams,
Clad in thy blossoming trees,
Mother, giver of ease,
Laughing low and sweet!
Mother, I kiss thy feet,
Speaker sweet and low!
Mother, to thee I bow.

Who hath said thou art weak in thy lands,
When the swords flash out in twice seventy million hands
And seventy millions voices roar
Thy dreadful name from shore to shore?
With many strengths who art mighty and stored,
To thee I call, Mother and Lord!
Thou who savest, arise and save!
To her I cry who ever her foemen drave
Back from plain and sea
And shook herself free.

Thou art wisdom, thou art law,
Thou our heart, our soul, our breath,
Thou the love divine, the awe
In our hearts that conquers death.
Thine the strength that nerves the arm,
Thine the beauty, thine the charm.
Every image made divine
In our temples is but thine.

Thou art Durga, Lady and Queen,
With her hands that strike and her swords of sheen,
Thou art Lakshmi lotus-throned,
Pure and perfect without peer,
Mother, lend thine ear.
Rich with thy hurrying streams,
Bright with thy orchard gleams,
Dark of hue, O candid-fair

In thy soul, with jewelled hair
And thy glorious smile divine,
Loveliest of all earthly lands,
Showering wealth from well-stored hands!
Mother, mother mine!
Mother sweet, I bow to thee,
Mother great and free.

Bharat Amar

India, my India, where first human eyes awoke to heavenly light!

All Asia's holy place of pilgrimage, great Motherland of might!

World-mother, first giver to humankind of philosophy and sacred lore,

Knowledge thou gav'st to man, God-love, works, art, religion's opened door.

O even with all that grandeur dwarfed or turned to bitter loss and maim,

How shall we mourn who are thy children and can vaunt thy mighty name?

Before us still there floats the ideal of those splendid days of gold;

A new world in our vision wakes, Love's India we shall rise to mould.

India, my India, who dare call thee a thing for pity's grace today?

Mother of wisdom, worship, works, nurse of the spirit's inward ray!

INDIA IS NOT JUST A PLACE.

India is not just a people.
India is the celestial music,
And inside that music
Anybody from any corner of the globe
Can find the real significance of life.

A Receptionist Is a Person (Please Note!)

A receptionist is a person (please note!),
Usually female, whose job is to receive.
Like her male cousin, the wide receiver,
She receives frequent passes from her own team
And abusive hits from visitors playing the field.
At times she is asked to do an end run
Around some office rival,
Or to execute a play
That is clearly out of bounds.
Should she complain,
She might find herself
Standing on the unemployment lines
Or sitting on the beach.
At times she is sorely tempted
To call a strike.
(But that's another sport!)

Daddy, I Love You

Daddy, I love you
For all that you do.
I'll kiss you and hug you
'Cause you love me, too.

You feed me and need me
To teach you to play,
So smile 'cause I love you
On this Father's Day.

A Father and a Dad Are Not the Same

A father and a dad are not the same:
One can be a dad and not a father,
Or one can be a father and not bother
To earn through love the more endearing name.
Some find fatherhood a bit too tame,
Leaving all the details to the mother,
Or dumping the sweet burden on another
Man with just a passing twinge of shame.
You have been our dad so many years
That you've become the landscape that is home,
The mountain that we look to from afar.
No matter where we go we're not alone,
For you remain within to still our fears
And be the word that tells us who we are.

Farewell, My Friend and Confidante

Farewell, my friend and confidante!
As you go, so must I
Return upon the well-worn path
Each soul must travel by.
Wend where you will, my wanderer,
Even as you stay
Long-treasured in my lonely heart,
Loved well, though far away.

Charity Is like an Unsung Anthem

Charity is like an unsung anthem
Harmonizing everything we see.
A gift can be a work of silent witness,
Remembrance, reverence, unsought forgiveness,
Intention, labor, time, philanthropy.
The worth is measured only by redemption,
Yielding nothing but the grace to be.

Happy Birthday, Dearest One

Happy birthday, dearest one,
Sweet child of my heart!
We've become one family,
Of which you are a part.

And so I sing out equally
To all of those who are
Mine by blood or fortune blessed,
No more, no less my star!

We are one in love and joy,
In fondness and in worth,
And so as one we celebrate
This day, your day of birth!

Birthdays Are an Annual Excuse

Birthdays are an annual excuse,
A way of saying things we ought to say.
Relatively few can sing their love
Unless they do it on some special day.
Hearts are shy, and words of little use.

But now I want to tell you that I love you,
Open up my heart and say the things
Siblings seldom say to one another
'Cause of the embarrassment it brings.
However long we live, I'll be with you.

Aileen

Aileen has reached the ripe old age of eighty!
In her there's been much music, song, and dance.
Love like wind on sand designed her life,
Early on a mother and a wife.
Even in late years she's had romance,
Nor has she followed else but love and beauty.

The Gift of India

Is there ought you need that my hands withhold,
Rich gifts of raiment or grain or gold?
Lo ! I have flung to the East and the West
Priceless treasures torn from my breast,
And yielded the sons of my stricken womb
To the drum-beats of the duty, the sabers of doom.
Gathered like pearls in their alien graves
Silent they sleep by the Persian waves,
Scattered like shells on Egyptian sands,
They lie with pale brows and brave, broken hands,
they are strewn like blossoms mown down by chance
On the blood-brown meadows of Flanders and France.
Can ye measure the grief of the tears I weep
Or compass the woe of the watch I keep?
Or the pride that thrills thro' my heart's despair
And the hope that comforts the anguish of prayer?
And the far sad glorious vision I see
Of the torn red banners of victory?
when the terror and the tumult of hate shall cease
And life be refashioned on anvils of peace,
And your love shall offer memorial thanks
To the comrades who fought on the dauntless ranks,
And you honour the deeds of the dauntless ones,
Remember the blood of my martyred sons!

"Geetanjali"

"Where the mind is without fear
and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been
broken up into fragments by
narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from
the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches
its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason
has not lost its way into the dreary
desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is lead forward by thee
into ever-widening thought and action-
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father,
let my country awake."

what is war

What is War

War is always
War is near
War is here
War is down the road
War is in the road
War is life
War is death
War is what drives some to
War is what drives some away
War is in the air
War is in my pear
War is fun to some
War is sorrow for others
War is always
War is all around us
War is the world in which we live in
I wonder does war last end in heaven

“WAR MEANS”

WAR MEANS death……,
WAR MEANS destruction……,
WAR MEANS fire……,
WAR MEANS bombing…..,
WAR MEANS sorrow…..
WAR MEANS turmoil…..,
WAR MEANS tears……,
WAR MEANS guns…..,
WAR MEANS blood…...,
WAR MEANS confusion….,
WAR MEANS explosions…..,
WAR MEANS mutilation……,
WAR MEANS sickness……,
WAR MEANS killing…..,
WAR MEANS occupation…..,
WAR MEANS loss……,
And lots more……,

But after one side…..,
Or the other side…..,
Has finally had enough….,
And lays down their arms
To surrender and give up…..,

WAR MEANS PEACE….! ! !

Ode to War

War is war with Nature’s peace:
Always has been – always will.
War is Man in Evil’s grease:
Never doubt his chronic ill.

War is begging a question: ‘Why? ’
War extracts a deafening cry:

‘Oh human nature in extremis –
Your evil sports its raging p*nis
To rape us with your lowest moment.

War aggressive; war perverse;
War oppressive; war of curse;
Honed with tension; not to mention
Pain to bear and stain to wear.
I do so love War’s ugly rhyme –
Now out of time.'

War created aberrant beauty;
Hypnotic awe of glorious Bomb:

Oh billowed bloom of mushroom head -
A tombstone groomed for thousands dead.

War in colour so demeaned:

Blood red - flash white -
Spattered hues of victims’ plight.

War now screams a victory!
'Hail the winners! Fail the losers! '
War is pitiful: there are no winners, sinners!
If winners though we must define,
It's only the side that suffered less,
No less - powerless, all!

‘War’ - sounds almost onomatopoeic:
War; gore; implore; score (to settle) : floor -
On which you lie when dying; crying; spying; putrefying:
Petrifying…

War breeds childhood fantasies:

Toy soldiers for young boys,
Computers now with games,
Destroy with click of mouse:
‘I shoot you down in flames! ’

War is educational:

Jane’s Infantry Weapons: hip-hip-hooray!
For now I have a great idea -
A Christmas present with a sneer!

War is shame with Man to blame:

Shame on you! Shame on Man!
Damn your bomb and battle plan!
Ban all war!
But no - oh no!
For if you do, then Man must go.

'Alone! ' I cried

Alone! ' I cried again.
'Alone I am with me!
Lonely in a world of mist
Alone, I reach to touch your wrist
And see if I am thee.’

To be alone beside a soul
Afloat, adrift; an empty ghoul
Alone in woe; the yearning flesh
To fill a thin, contorted mesh
Diffuse atop an icy floor, alone.

So much alone in fact, I lack
The tonal vibrancy of life:

I am a song without a tune
alone;
A greying sky in June
alone;

The blueness of a sullen moon
– waning in a starless night–
alone;

Coasting down a weedy pass
alone;
The only image in the glass
alone;

To meet a certain heavy fate
– to turn and shut the knurly gate–

…alone.

Alone

Alone to cry
Alone to laugh
Alone to smile
Alone to frown
Alone to live
Alone to die
Alone to wander
Alone to discover
Alone to learn
Alone to live
Alone in pain
Alone in hurt
Alone in joy
Alone in the morning
Alone in the night
Alone in the afternoon
Alone in this life
Alone in this world
Alone in boredom
Alone in knowledge
Alone in this state
Alone with people
Alone at work
Alone right now
Alone when I was born
And alone when I will die
Alone walking through life
Without any pride
How can you be satisfied
Living your life like you do
When you know there is some one out there
Who could really use a friend like you
No one will know how I live
No one will know who I am
No one will ever get to know me
Because I am destined to spend my life alone
I am always alone.
It’s no fun to be alone
To do everything on your own
To live with no recognition
To share my pride with no one
Wanting to have someone
To live my life with
But for now
I will continue alone
And all alone

So alone!

So alone in my bed
Alone listening to nightly whispers
Alone in my thoughts
Alone standing in court
Alone I stand and fight
Alone I pray for rainbow lights

Alone in the morning I awake
Alone I celebrate my joys
Alone I cry out my sadness
Alone I voice out my fears
Alone in strenght

Alone in wealth
Alone in good health
Alone I try to understand
Alone I seek knowledge
Alone I share what is mine
Alone I try not to be alone
Alone when my time has come, I pass away

Im sorry

Im sorry i hurt you
Im sorry it had to end like this
Im sorry i cant be with you
Im sorry i'm not perfect
Im sorry i cant handle it
Im sorry i broke my promises
Im sorry i cant fix this!
This is over for good, no going back
even though i said i would i cant
Im sorry about breaking your heart
But this is it! !

Its been a long time.

Ive loved you for a long time,
but that time is over now
iver used and hurt alot of people
because i couldnt get over you.
Ive done alot of growing up and i can
see that its better if we are only friends
i didnt want to believe it before
but i can see it now so its safe
to say im ready to let you go.
Ive cried, ive lied, ive been hurt but i survived
These are the words i couldnt say but
its okay because i can now
because you've never really been mine
you've only ever been at the tip of my fingers.
But no matter what you'll always be in my heart, because
ill never be able to forget what we use to have
but all we have now is memories and friendship.

Teenage Love

You make everything okay in my world even when its not
everytime i hug you your always so warm it feel so stupidly perfect
and when i put my head on your chest and silently listen to your heartbeat
i can feel the light touch of your finger tips that feels like angles
danceing on my back and in that split second the world disappears and its
just you and me and even if i do lose myself so stupidly in the love i have for you
i feel so safe and as i slowly drift off to sleep i think only if this could be
and as i wake in the morning thinking how perfect it is to have your arms around me
i no that it will never be

First day of my school

A desire to fly, but without wings,
Expect a voice, but just a cry to sing,
I came to a place, where I had a din to hear,
Left my mother, though with tears.

No language to speak, just new faces to see,
New hands to lift, new hands to pamper just for me,
An angel I saw, she asked my name,
Few teeth in mouth, what a shame.

She took me in her laps, to know my name,
As she had to see the child that she had to tame,
Gave me a seat, and a smile with a sweet,
Took a promise, 'tommorow to meet.'

Came home with joy with so much to tell,
That I had a summer not a hail,
To my mother I told with all the words I knew,
Promised not to fear, when she would leave.

Our Heaven is Here

When he asked will you marry me
I could only laugh at him

When I asked you sure want to spend your whole life with me
He said not just this one but every life

And when I said life is long and may turn weary some day
He said never mind, will take a break and re-marry after 40 years

When I asked how do you know I am the person
He said because I know who am I as a person

When people say marriages are made in heavens
We say our heavens are dispersed here around
On this earth, where our marriage was made
In our sorrows, in our laughters, in our love and our faith
In all the answers said and unsaid
In all the questions asked and unasked
In all the days and all the nights
In all the feelings interwoven together
To keep us alive till we die

And after death, as I said once
Our memories will enjoin us to our graves
And hopefully, we may crave
To reunite in another heaven of ours some day.....

Maybe...

Maybe...if you were taller
Maybe...if I were shorter
Maybe...if the years, statuses, and complications
dissapeared,
faded like smoke
until nothing was left
but our souls
welding together
in the purity and simplicity
that is
love.
Maybe...
If heearts were filled only of love
and tears were only of joy
and honesty was always right
and all days
ended in
perfect sunsets...
...maybe.
